As we stand on the threshold of 2025, I find myself reflecting on a year that has been both challenging and transformative. The past year has tested us in unimaginable ways, but it has also reinforced the profound strength that comes from standing together as a community. As a proud Jew, a mom, and a firm believer in the power of shared values, I’ve seen firsthand how connection and unity can help us rise above even the darkest moments.

October 7, 2024, is a date that will forever be seared into our hearts. The tragedy and heroism of that day remind us of the resilience of the human spirit and the strength of community. For the families of the hostages who are still waiting for their loved ones to return, we must continue to pray, to advocate, and to hope. Let’s keep their stories alive, teaching our children the power of empathy and the importance of standing up for what is right—even when it’s hard.

This past year has also driven home the need to stay true to our values. As moms, we know the delicate balance between protecting our children and preparing them for a complex world. It’s our responsibility to model courage and authenticity, to show them that doing what’s right often requires standing firm in the face of opposition. Whether it’s reaching out to a neighbor in need, standing against hate, or simply speaking our truth, we must lead by example. Our children are watching, and they’re learning from every action we take.

The election season once again highlighted our differences, but as Americans, we share more than we often realize. We all want what’s best for our children, a future defined by opportunity, safety, and hope. Let’s lean into our shared values and work to foster understanding. In 2025, we have a chance to put division aside and prioritize what truly matters: raising kind, thoughtful, and resilient children who will carry the torch forward.

As we move into the new year, I’d like to offer a few ways we can live our best lives and strengthen our communities:

1. Reconnect with your values: Take time to reflect on what truly matters to you and your family. Whether it’s faith, tradition, or simply spending more quality time together, grounding ourselves in our values helps us navigate life with purpose.
2. Prioritize meaningful relationships: Make an effort to connect with others—family, friends, neighbors. Host a Shabbat dinner, volunteer together, or simply reach out to someone who might need support. Small acts of kindness can create ripple effects of connection.
3. Practice gratitude and mindfulness: In our busy lives, it’s easy to overlook the beauty of everyday moments. Start a gratitude journal, meditate, or share something you’re thankful for each day with your kids. Gratitude can shift our perspective and bring more joy into our lives.
4. Engage in community action: Whether it’s supporting local schools, participating in interfaith dialogues, or advocating for causes close to your heart, being active in the community strengthens the bonds that hold us together.

As I look ahead to 2025, I feel a deep sense of gratitude for this community and the love and support you’ve shown. LA Mom Magazine has always been a space for connection, and I’m honored to share this journey with you. Together, we can create a culture of hope, resilience, and unity—not just for ourselves but for the generations to come.

Here’s to a year filled with love, meaning, and purpose. May 2025 be a year where we come together, support one another, and continue to build the future we want for our children. Let’s live our best lives—as individuals and as a united community.
