Event Planning

Dear Readers,

Welcome to the first issue of Los Angeles Mom Magazine. I am thrilled to have developed a site that will hopefully answer most of your mommy questions from how to treat the flu to planning your kids’ birthday parties.

Like yourselves, I am a Los Angeles mom who is always looking for hip, fun events to take my kids to. I am always searching for new, amazing entertainment and places for my kids’ birthday parties and don’t have hours to waste online.
The Event Planning section aims to help moms find all of their party needs with a click of a button. We will even have monthly articles by party planners and caterers on how to plan your events.

In March we will begin our listings section that will feature local entertainment companies and party places. Each of these sections will provide a short description of the company including a contact and price. Both adult and kids’ birthday parties can be searched by age and gender so you don’t have to spend hours looking through hundreds of listings.

I promise to only provide you with the best companies that I have personally seen or have been highly recommended by friends so that there will be no surprises.

If there are any party places or people you have used and think should be listed please email me at shirin@lamommagazine.com.

carly photoAs a speech therapist, people always ask me how to assess whether or not their children have speech and language disorders.

Speech Disorders:
Articulation is how speech sounds are made. When a child deletes a sound, substitutes changes, or adds a sound, they may have a speech disorder or a phonological disorder, depending on their age. These errors make it hard for a child to be understood by others.
