Lauren HaasSpring is here and that means…SWIMSUIT SEASON! Yikes! Instead of dieting, here is what I tell my clients to do:

1. DO NOT DIET. DIETS DO NOT WORK. They leave you hungry, irritable and the moment you stop dieting, you will gain all the weight back…PLUS SOME MORE! YIKES! Instead, be consistent with a healthy meal plan and exercise routine.

2. EAT WHOLE, REAL, ORGANIC FOODS. Fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, nuts and whole grains will fuel your body with all the nutrients it needs.

3. EAT FAT! What? Yes, eating healthy fats like avocado, almonds, a whole egg, coconut oil, olive oil and fatty fish will curb your appetite. By eating fat, you will slow your digestion process down which means, you will feel full longer! Plus, it is good for your skin and nails!

EXERCISE: Find an exercise that you like and be consistent with it. I tell all my clients that it takes a minimum of 90 days to change your body, so do not expect that flat tummy after 1 month of exercise.

EAT A PROTEIN RICH BREAKFAST TO FIRE UP THAT METABOLISM! Try making my Asparagus, Chard Pea and Almond Cheese Fritatta! I make it with 12 whole eggs, which will make 6 servings. By making a huge fritatta, you can share it with your kids, partner and/or enjoy it for the rest of the week. Just re-heat it in a pan or in the oven.
